2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L V8 dying randomly every so often?—by mustang

My friends Jeep dies randomly every so often. It doesn’t happen while driving, only after it’s been driven earlier that day. It always happens in some parking lot after its been sitting for a time period longer than 15 minutes. Nothing works when you try to get into it (ex. key fob, power locks, lights, radio). It does nothing. But when you jump it, it starts right up like there has been no problem and every thing works perfectly. Why does this happen? It was bought used from a GM dealer, but it still has a MOPAR battery, so im assuming that it’s still the original 5 year old battery. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

I’ve had similiar issues with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Your friend needs to make sure that the cables attached to the plus/minus side aren’t all jacked up and corrodded. That can have something to do with it. Get replacement cables or check out your PCM Battery Fuse and all the other fuses in the Jeep. Most of these newer vehicles are electronically controlled so just about everything you said points to an electronic problem.
