2008 Lexus LS 600h Review
The LS 600h L’s Lexus Hybrid Drive system provides power and performance on par with competitors normally aspirated 12-cylinder powerplants. The hybrid powertrain generates a peak combined output rating of 438 horsepower and can effortlessly accelerate the LS 600h L from zero-to-60 mph in just 5.5 seconds.

puregreencars Reviewed the 2008 Lexus LS 600h and gave out”The LS 600h L’s high-output performance is matched with a preliminary MY08 EPA-estimated miles-per-gallon fuel efficiency rating of 20 in the city, and 22 on the highway. Its combined fuel economy rating of 21 mpg is equal to or better than the combined fuel-economy ratings of many V6 all-wheel-drive mid-sized luxury sedans.”

2008 Lexus LS 600h Review
The hybrid powertrain is the real kicker, combining a 5.0-liter V8 engine with two electric motors and a continuously variable transmission for a total of 438 horsepower. It’s driven through an all-wheel drive system exclusive to the LS 600h L, and all told, the car weighs in a prodigious 717 pounds more than an LS 460 L.

autobytel Reviewed the 2008 Lexus LS 600h and gave out”The LS series is the Lexus flagship sedan, its most expensive and technologically advanced vehicle. As the flagship of flagships, the LS 600h L is packed with everything that Lexus knows how to do, including a complicated all-wheel drive hybrid powertrain. It also builds on the inherent luxuriousness of the LS itself.”

2008 Lexus LS 600h Review
The good: The hybrid system in the 2008 Lexus LS 600h delivers good fuel economy and an excellent emissions rating for this size of car. The stereo system sounds fantastic and comes with a hard-drive music server. Live traffic reporting is integrated with the navigation system for smart destination routing.
The bad: Aesthetically, the car appears refined but it’s no real head-turner. Music organization could be a little better.

cnet Reviewed the 2008 Lexus LS 600h and gave out”Similarly, the LS 600h gets all the cabin gadgets from the LS 460 L then adds a couple more. On the LS 460 L, we were stunned by the audio quality and loved the in-dash hard drive for storing music. The live traffic alerts feature the best integration with a navigation system we’ve seen on a factory-install.”

The 2008 LS 600h is a 4-door, up to 5-passenger luxury sedan, available in one trim only, the L Luxury Sedan.Upon introduction, the LS 600h is equipped with a standard 5.0-liter, V8, 438-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2008 LS 600h is all-new for 2008.

Driven gently, the Lexus will indeed beat the mileage of its apples-to-apples V-8 rivals, but only by 1 m.p.g. to 3 m.p.g. A Mercedes S550 isn’t an egregious guzzler at an E.P.A.-rated 16/24 m.p.g., and I managed 19 m.p.g. during a recent test. Continue reading »

2008 Land Rover LR2 Review
The good: The premium stereo in the 2008 Land Rover LR2 has very good audio quality and plays music from multiple sources. The navigation system uses an attractive interface while the car has all the off-road gear we expect in a Land Rover.
The bad: We had some issues with the stereo and cell phone interfaces, which are confined to a two-line radio display while there is a perfectly good LCD at the top of the stack.

cnet Reviewed the 2008 Land Rover LR2 and gave out”The LR2 shows many of the design cues of its bigger brothers. The roof of the cargo area lifts a little, similar to the LR3. Engine vents in the front fenders mimic that of the Range Rover. And the grille has a similar crosshatched metal look as the Range Rover’s.”

2008 Land Rover LR2 Review
A roomy leather interior includes raised “theater seating” in the rear for better outward visibility, especially for the kids. It affords 59 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear seat folded forward.

forbesautos Reviewed the 2008 Land Rover LR2 and gave out”The Land Rover LR2 cuts a more stylish profile than the model it replaces, with a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs. Styling cues, such as the headlight design, are borrowed from the larger Range Rover and LR3. The stepped roof of the previous model carries over to the LR2.”

2008 Land Rover LR2 Review
The center differential seems to act faster than a traditional viscous coupling. Open differentials are used front and rear, with brake-based traction control that apportions power left or right. As in the larger LR3, Land Rover’s Terrain Response is standard and allows the traction control, the stability control, and the anti-lock brakes to be tailored for different surfaces and situations.

caranddriver Reviewed the 2008 Land Rover LR2 and gave out”Underneath the unibody LR2 is a fully independent strut-type suspension with larger disc brakes at each corner. The LR2 we drove rode well, feeling more nimble and better controlled through turns than a Range Rover or LR3. Compared with a BMW X3’s, the LR2’s ride is softer and more comfortable.”

2007 Kia Amanti Review
Looking from the rear, the trunk lid bustles up a bit more in the centre than it used to, and together with its 20 mm, or 0.8 inch longer rear overhang it can hold 10 litres or 0.35 cu-ft of additional cargo than the outgoing car, at 450 litres or 15.9 cu-ft. The entire look is about as traditional as luxury cars get, with the tail flowing downward elegantly before meeting up with this nice chrome strip that visually wraps around the entire car, all capped off with elegant dual chrome exhaust tips poking through the revised rear fascia.

carpages.ca Reviewed the 2007 Kia Amanti and gave out”After all, if you’re going to try and change buyers’ perceptions about an entire brand with a flagship sedan as good as the Amanti, you might as well let those buyers know where they can buy it.And Kia should be proud of what they’ve done with their top-line sedan. Who knows? Maybe in years to come people will automatically think luxury when they hear the Kia name? Probably not too soon, but at least potential entry-level luxury buyers will learn to appreciate that if they want more car for their money, a Kia dealership is where they aught to shop.”
