Do they make the BMW M5 in automatic transmission?—Asked by 1sweet lady
I want to know about the models anywhere from 2000-2007? I can’t drive a manual transmission auto very well. Would I have to special order an M5 if I want it in automatic? I am willing to buy it used if I can find an automatic but should I even look for one? What do you know?
Thanks for your answers in advance. Continue reading »

2008 BMW M5 Review

The high price tag on the 2008 BMW M5 is, in part, accounted for by its legion of standard features including, 7-speed sequential transmission, aluminum alloy 19-inch wheels with high-traction tires, fully adjustable seats, hydraulically enhanced energy-absorbing collision protection, and a tire deflation sensor system.

Pros: rock solid handling, responsive, tight steering, fast acceleration, iDrive
Cons: small gas tank, upgrades add over $10K but make a difference

I did a lot of comparisons of the M5 and AMG E63. No losers in this bunch. The cars compare closely on a lot of specs (both have 500 HP). When it came down to choosing, the M5 is simply more fun to drive. The AMG is blistering fast but so quiet the racing fun was taken from the car. Continue reading »

The car can be summed up in one phrase: performance and luxury in a compact design. I drove a 2003 and 2005 3.0L A4 prior to getting this one and the performance stands up well. There is definitely noticeable turbo lag, but this can probably be overcome by changing driving habits. The sound of the engine will also take some getting used to as the turbo is a bit “throatier” than I’m used to. The car handles extremely well, though, hugging curves and accelerating very smoothly. The now-standard S-Line exterior features definitely give the car a sportier look. The interior is outstanding. The layout is getting better and the list of available features is exhaustive. In all, a great car! Continue reading »

2008 Audi A4 Review

Audi’s ultra-smooth multitronic CVT works masterfully and subtly. After slight hesitation during takeoff, the car moves ahead with some haste. Passing attempts at low speeds, however, sometimes yield a shortfall of response. You hear a little engine noise while accelerating with the CVT, but not much.
