2008 Audi A8 Professional Reviews:
NewCarTestDrive has reviewed the 2008 Audi A8 and given out”The Audi A8 is fast, roomy, luxurious and exceptionally comfortable. It rides like a luxury car, yet it’s taut and handles like a sports sedan. Loaded with innovation, the A8 is a thinking person’s luxury car, more progressive, less traditional than a BMW or Mercedes. It’s elegant but not arrogant, indulgent without being excessive.”
carseek has reviewed the 2008 Audi A8 and given out”The 2008 Audi A8, with its modest external changes and performance enhancements, has significantly improved the vehicle. People who enjoyed the driving characteristics of the 2007 A8 will come away duly impressed. The A8 has positioned itself as the true flagship of the Audi fleet, and a true luxury performance saloon..”
cars has reviewed the 2008 Audi A8 and given out”Audi’s flagship sedan is civilized and refined and accomplishes most things in a manner that’s close to flawless. Luxury and maneuverability are the A8’s strongest attributes. On narrow two-lane roads, this full-size sedan whips from one curve to the next with ease. It stays beautifully flat while cornering and responds immediately to driver inputs. You get an abundant rush of energy when the pedal is pushed, but considerable downshifting occurs on even moderate upgrades. Fortunately, those downshifts are smooth and prompt.”

Pros: Amazingly good car at everything, performance, room, luxury, traction.
Cons: I could live without the electric closing trunk, seems cool, but slow.
I have a 2005 A8L, the car has taken me a little to get used to after stepping up from an A6 Quattro. It’s a large car, about the same length as my wife’s Town and Country Minivan in length. I’ve grown to really use the front and rear parktronic sensors when parking, etc. The visibility out the back is somewhat limited, but you get used to it. I did what most people wouldn’t, in that I took off the Factory 19″ wheels and went down to 17″ wheels with all season tires. It made a tremendous difference in the ride and quiteness of the car (but doesn’t look as good). I have very few negatives. It runs like a dream. With the new tires it is an incredible snow car. It comes standard with Quattro, locking differentials, ESP, traction control, adjutable ride height for increased clearance. I’ve run circles around 4wd vehicles on snowy roads and you can’t get much safer than this one. It’s very fast, quiet and smooth which is a tough combo for speeding tickets. I like my portable Garmin GPS better than the factory system, but is OK when you get used to it and the overall MMI system does a nice job of integrating all the features. I get about 25 mpg on the road and 16 around town which isn’t too bad considering the size and power. I could live without the slow closing power trunk, but All in All it’s an unbelivable car for its purpose.

Pros: Gourgous body and interior, stable performance, most luxurious car out there
Cons: Price is at BMW level now, but its almost justifiable
I was looking at a 2007 model A8 but the dealer just happened to show me the 2008 edition. So we got it. I have the sport package, the Enhanced interior, and Bang and Olfsen stereo (love it). I thought the ride would be harsh w/ the wheels and sport suspension, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was smoothe, quiet and creamy on most roads. It drives like a much smaller car and comes with many clever features. I like it much more than my old S500 and I liked it better than an S550 i tested. Just for fun, I went over to Bentley and test drove the Arnage T and Flying Spur, amazingly, I like the Audi better than both of them! Now you can’t beat the presence of a Bentley but the A8 gives a sinister look to people and definitely gets its own looks. I love it.
