autoblog reviewed the 2008 Jaguar S-Type and gave out”As has been reported ad nauseum, the new S-Type will not use aluminum in its construction to the extent that it’s used on the XJ sedan and XK, but rather feature steel body panels predominantly with some aluminum ones like the hood thrown in to save weight.”
edmunds reviewed the 2008 Jaguar S-Type and gave out”The Jaguar S-Type is a bit of a throwback. Stately and posh, the S-Type’s exterior design shows shades of the ’60s Jaguar saloons, from which its designers cribbed generously. The distinct styling also distinguishes the S-Type from other luxury sport sedans on the market, which more typically feature sharp edges and angled surfaces.”

The S-Type Jaguar for 2008 (which will be its final production year) shows its British heritage in more ways than one. Firstly its typically Jaguar styling cues, such as the rear quarter windows, and in particular the grille - actually more reminicent of the C-Type than the Mk.II which most people compare it to. Secondly, the S-Type is made at the Jaguar factory at Castle Bromwich.
