2008 Jeep Patriot Professional Reviews:
edmunds has reviewed the 2008 Jeep Patriot and given out” Pros: Affordable pricing, lots of headroom, Jeep styling, above-average off-road ability. Cons: Performance-robbing CVT, some mediocre interior materials, minimal cargo capacity.”
NewCarTestDrive has reviewed the 2008 Jeep Patriot and given out” The all-new Jeep Patriot more than fills the bill, it defines new territory. For about $17,000 it offers 4WD Jeep capability in a compact SUV with a strong four-cylinder engine that gets an EPA-rated 25/29 mpg. The suspension is superb: stable and comfortable in all situations. Cargo capacity in the Patriot is large because all the passenger seats can easily fold flat. With a full complement of safety features, it will be hard to find more capability and value for the money.”
TheCarConnection has reviewed the 2008 Jeep Patriot and given out”The Jeep Compass is nearly mechanically identical and about the same size, though it hasn’t been received nearly as well, and there’ve been reports of slow sales. If you can live with the styling, you’re likely to drive away with a much sweeter deal on the Compass than on the 2008 Jeep Patriot.”

Pros: obviously great gas mileage, nothing flashy, good space for size.
Cons: Somewhat of a cheap interior but what can you expect for the price.
My first new car. 2008 black is really smooth looking. Manual is a fun ride. I didnt need speed, just something simple that I could rely on and afford. I got a great deal with a trade in, i dont mind no power locks or windows. But tinted windows was a plus…

Pros: Cheap insurance, cheap price, high MPG, extremely practical, lifetime powertrain warranty.
Cons: Driving position not so comfortable for ME, could be decent for you. Performance, features, noise.
This is the perfect basic low-budget transportation/family car for someone who puts on lots and lots of miles. Some people complain about road noise, and others report that placing a blanket over the spare tire under the cargo floor quiets it. Its performance is acceptable but uninspiring, like almost any vehicle at this price point. Its lifetime powertrain warranty lasts as long as you own it, no matter how many years or miles, and ensures that it will always drive. I chose a more expensive and less practical VW Rabbit for fun and comfort, but would have chosen the Patriot if I was buying instead of leasing.
