edmunds has reviewed the 2008 Kia Sedona and given out”Pros: Powerful and refined V6 engine, quiet ride, plenty of cabin storage, excellent crash test scores, available short-wheelbase model, long warranty coverage, strong value. Cons: No fold-flat third row in short-wheelbase version, minor deficiencies in terms of cabin materials quality and available features.”

AOL Autos has reviewed the 2008 Kia Sedona and given out”Kia Sedona is a great-looking minivan with a powerful V6 engine and a suspension that’s second to none. The interior is well thought out, with seven-passenger seating but easily convertible to a carpeted cargo van and there’s an abundance of storage compartments. Sedona lacks nothing, except all-wheel drive.”

CarSeek has reviewed the 2008 Kia Sedona and given out”The 2008 Kia Sedona’s V6 engine is nicely refined, providing a quiet ride and ample acceleration. An abundance of well positioned storage compartments as well as a comfortable cabin, excellent safety ratings and the option of either a short or long wheel base at a base price of just under $17,000 contribute to the Kia Sedona’s growing appeal and long term value.”

Pros: Comfortable, Affordable, Attractive, Plenty of storage & 3.8L engine
Cons: Weak on fuel economy, Drab readout on radio

Before purchasing the Kia Sedona we looked at Chrysler, Honda, Nissan, & Toyota but they did not compare in price. To get the same features found on the Kia the other makes cost between $5,000 to $8,000 more. This is a comparison between the other makes 3.5L vs. Kia’s 3.8L. In addition the other makes could not compete with Kia’s 10yr 100,000 waranty. The Kia also has a lot of little convenient touches not found on the other makes. However, the inside of the Sedona, while attractive, is less classy looking than the other makes. We also found that our fuel economy was less than we had hoped for- about 16 mpg for constant in town driving (Dallas, TX). We have had our Sedona for about 5 months and we still rejoice that we bought it over the other makes.

    2. Duncan McDowall from Ontario Says:

Pros: Have had the vehicle for almost a year. It is a joy to drive. Excellent value and sensible design.
Cons: Gas economy a bit on high side.

We thoroughly researched this purchase. Had driven three Pontiac Montanas previously and never had any complaints. But Montana is now very dated and rates poorly in comparison with other vans in safety ratings. Would have happily bought the Toyota or Honda as they are very similar. But the KIA is much better value. Particaularly like the sunroof and leather seating. Excellent motor and driving quality. Absolutely no problems in the first year of ownership. Vans are pretty generic vehicles, but KIA seems to have brought their product up to the highest standard. Highly recommend.
