2008 Land Rover LR2

The Land Rover LR2 shares a new 3.2-liter straight six engine with various Volvo models. In the small Land Rover it’s good for 230 horsepower. The only transmission available is a manually-shiftable six-speed automatic.This powertrain provides adequate but less than thrilling acceleration, as it must contend with 4,255 pounds of mass.

The 2008 LR2 is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in one trim only, the SE.
Upon introduction, the LR2 is equipped with a standard 3.2-liter, I6, 230-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

caranddriver reviewed the 2008 Land Rover LR2 and gave out”Underneath the unibody LR2 is a fully independent strut-type suspension with larger disc brakes at each corner. The LR2 we drove rode well, feeling more nimble and better controlled through turns than a Range Rover or LR3. Compared with a BMW X3’s, the LR2’s ride is softer and more comfortable.”

forbesautos reviewed the 2008 Land Rover LR2 and gave out”The Land Rover LR2 cuts a more stylish profile than the model it replaces, with a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhangs. Styling cues, such as the headlight design, are borrowed from the larger Range Rover and LR3. The stepped roof of the previous model carries over to the LR2.”

cnet reviewed the 2008 Land Rover LR2 and gave out”The LR2 shows many of the design cues of its bigger brothers. The roof of the cargo area lifts a little, similar to the LR3. Engine vents in the front fenders mimic that of the Range Rover. And the grille has a similar crosshatched metal look as the Range Rover’s. “
