2009 Acura TSX
Index of Acura TSX Review-update 18 May’09
The fully-revamped 2009 Acura TSX is the first sedan to fall victim to the new design language of Honda’s premium division. Not so long ago, Acura had arguably no specific identity in terms of styling.
The 2009 TSX is a 4-door, 5-passenger sports sedan, available in 4 trims such as 6-Spd MT,5-Spd AT, 5-Spd AT w/ Technology Package and 6-Spd MT w/ Technology Package.
2009 Acura TSX’s MSRP are range from $29,160 to $32,260

Upon introduction, the 6-Spd MT is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 201-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The 5-Spd AT w/ Technology Package is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 201-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 30-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
The 2009 TSX is redesigned for 2009.

The 2009 Acura TSX is an interesting choice based on its overall performance and high levels of quality. However, many potential buyers will look elsewhere due to its radical (perplexing?) exterior design. What’s more, driving dynamics do not exactly live up to the Acura name. Losing a couple ounces of sportiness in favor of a more mainstream character will prove costly if you ask me. But if you’re looking for a Euro-flavored Accord, the TSX offers great value.

Pros: * All new; all better * Sharp handling * Easy on fuel for a performance car
Cons: * No Super Handling-All-Wheel Drive option * Pricey Technology Package hoards the goodies * Some may miss high rpm “hit”
Zingy and nimble, the athletic TSX is the successful person’s first reward. Now Acura has rebuilt the 4-door sports sedan, added high-tech pizzaz and massaged the styling to keep up with the automotive Joneses.

Being Toyota people, we have never owned a Honda before. We ended up buying this car because it was the best deal. I really wanted a Lexus IS250, but the TSX has everything the IS does and was a lot less money. We are very happy with our decision. It is an excellent car.

I test drove both this and the lexus IS250. Can't really tell any difference between the two in terms of acceleration for low speeds. This car has a 'S'ports mode which keeps the car in low gears even at high speeds and thus allow for very fast and responsive accelerations. Overall, this is a really good car for the price/power/fuel economy/room.

I fell in love with this vehicle at first site. Much bigger than the previous TSX. I have previously owned an 04 Acura TL and loved it but dislike the new TL, the 09 TSX replaces the 04 TL. The leather is awesome, 6 speed manual seems more powerful than the Automatic. I am over 6 feet tall and the driver seat has plenty of leg room and headroom. The sound system is great! I traded in a 2007 Accord V6 and it was a great step up for the price! My alternative was the IS 250 and I am glad I chose the TSX.

Thanks for the review. This car is very competitive. You should make car manufacturers and dealers compete for your business. My dad swears by this process on this blog: http://excarsalesman.typepad.com/
