2009 Audi TTS Reviews and Buying Tips
Last update 1 June’09- Review @ Thecarconnection
With the addition of the TTS, the 2009 Audi TT now really appeals to serious driving enthusiasts in addition to those who want to be seen in a styling ride.
Introduction of Audi TTS
The 2009 TTS is a 2-door, up to 4-passenger luxury sports coupe, or luxury convertible, available in two trims such as the 2.0T quattro with S tronic and the 2.0T Roadster quattro with S tronic.
The 2009 Audi TTS’s MSRP range from $45,500 to $47,500
Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 265-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
The 2009 TTS is all-new for 2009.
Review index- (update 10 May’09)
- Thecarconnection—STYLING:The new 2009 Audi TT looks sporty both inside and out;PERFORMANCE:The 2009 Audi TT has great handling and acceleration in any of its models—especially the TTS—but the V-6 drinks a lot more gas without much better performance;QUALITY:The 2009 Audi TT has a quiet, comfortable interior—but you shouldn’t try to use the backseat;SAFETY:The 2009 Audi TT has all of the trappings of a safe car, but no crash-test ratings are available to back it up;FEATURES:The 2009 Audi TT has a wide range of features for its various trim models, but watch your budget when choosing options.
- EdmundsPros—Upscale interior, distinctive design, all-wheel drive, superb sequential-shift manual transmission, surprisingly thrifty fuel economy, coupe’s hatchback utility.Cons—Expensive price relative to performance, handling not as sharp as that of rivals, no manual transmission available.
The 2009 Audi TTS luxury coupe and roadster take the popular TT body style to a whole new level. But some competing cars are on a higher plane still.
- Auto123The TTS is a beautiful, great-handling and quick car that turns heads everywhere it goes. It’s priced high but well-crafted. Yet the TT’s size seems to work better as a convertible, especially since Audi’s S5, which is bigger and more powerful, is only a few thousand dollars away.
But buying a premium car involves a lot of emotional appeal, and on that standpoint, the TT scores high. This is a car that sells on looks alone. Available in coupe and roadster body styles, Audi’s got a nice pair of TTs in its hands.

Buying Tips
If you’re thinking of upgrading from the base 2.0T model of the TT and are considering the V-6 3.2L model, make sure you check out the TTS, which is around the same price. The TTS might not be quite as plush and luxurious as a fully kitted-out TT V-6, but with its rorty exhaust and more flamboyant appearance, it’s probably closer to the sporty feel that TT shoppers are looking for.

I recently purchased my 2009 TTS convertible and could not be happier. The exterior look is a unique combination of sophistication and a fun roadster (I get a lot of head turns driving it). The interior design is not only smartly laid out but the quality is obviously of the highest level. It has great acceleration and a very smooth ride and handling at high speeds. While some may say the AWD feature (which is great for northern weather) may detract from the rear wheel drive sensation of speed and acceleration, I have not noticed this. Overall, I cannot find a bad thing to say about this car. It truly is a winner.
