2009 BMW X6 Review @ Edmunds Last update 03 Jun’09

The 2009 BMW X6 remains relatively unchanged from last year with only a shuffling of some features in the options structure.

Introduction of 2009 BMW X6 :

As MSRP from $55,900 to $66,650,The 2009 X6 is a 4-door, 4-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in two trims, the xDrive35i and the xDrive50i.

Upon introduction, the xDrive35i is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, I6, 300-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 20-mpg on the highway. The xDrive50i is equipped with a standard 4.4-liter, V8, 400-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 18-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.

The 2009 X6 is a carryover from 2008.

Buying Tips

BMW says that next year, it will offer the X6 with a new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter clean diesel engine as well as a Two-Mode hybrid drive system. Either version should help improve the X6’s somewhat dismal fuel economy ratings of 15/20 mpg for the six-cylinder version.
