Index of 2009 Hyundai Elantra Reviews
- newcartestdrive—The Hyundai Elantra offers a roomy interior for the class, a good package of safety equipment, and a strong warranty. The styling holds its own in the class; it looks very clean but doesn’t try to draw attention to itself. The seats are comfortable, the brakes are excellent, and the cornering capability is good, making it enjoyable to drive. The engine offers the latest four-cylinder technology; it can power the Elantra to 80 miles per hour without much effort and delivers good fuel economy when driven conservatively. With a price that’s lower than most other compact cars, the Elantra is a worthy competitor in the class and offers a very good value for the money.
- Thecarconnection—STYLING:The 2009 Hyundai Elantra is quite softly styled both inside and out. It won’t turn heads, but it also won’t offend;PERFORMANCE:The 2009 Hyundai Elantra isn’t edgy in its performance, but it handles well and offers solid fuel economy; those who want more might be happier with the Touring;QUALITY:The 2009 Hyundai Elantra suffers from some wind and engine noise. Fortunately, however, space is generous and materials are high quality—especially in the Touring;SAFETY:With unimpressive crash-test results but a decent array of safety features, the 2009 Hyundai Elantra barely makes the grade;FEATURES:The Hyundai Elantra offers a respectable slate of features, including upgraded audio features for 2009.
- Auto123—Sure, the 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring isn’t perfect. It comes with a fair share of little flaws and irritants. Yet, for consumers in search of a compact wagon with cargo room to spare, it’s definitely worth considering.

Purchased this GLS car in March ‘09 but is a new ‘08 vehicle. Love the roomy interior for a midsize sedan. Worry constanly about the cloth seats they can stain easy. Ride is excellent for its size compares well to larger luxuxry cars. Engine is sluggish up hills and loud I have to constantly shift gears in AT to get the power I need. Seatbelt alarm is annoying. Tires are below average in bad weather and reaplced them (Hankook’s) 1 week after puchase (with Goodyear’s). But u would think with the negatives I wouldn’t like the car. But it is a well done vehicle that needs some improvements but is solid so far.

I bought the 2007 SE model with about 30,000 miles on it (it was a rental car believe it or not) and this car is the best I’ve ever owned! I bought it in October of ‘08 and have put a little over 10,000 miles on it and it runs great. I have only had to do regular maintenance on it (regular oil changes, tire rotation etc…) and couldn’t be more happy about my purchase. It’s a great little car for the money and even though it gets great gas mileage, it’s one of the zippiest cars I’ve had the pleasure of driving. I take it on the thruway regularly and it has no trouble getting up to 70 or 75 mph. We had the choice of purchasing this car or the 2007 Chevy Cobalt (same mileage) and went with this instead when we saw how well the Elantra holds it’s value. The value of the Cobalt had went down considerably (several thousand dollars) after one year!!! I recommend this car to a first time car buyer or a young couple starting out (like my husband and I). We love the car and believe anyone who buys one will too!!!

I bought this GLS in August 2008, I liked it mainly because of its safety features and overall feeling. It is not the best out there but for sure it gives you a very good run for your money. The GLS is the full equipped of the family, It has traction control which you can disengage as you please, alloy wheels, side airbags, a decent stereo with aux input and steering controls, cruise control, full ABS disc brake system, by the way very powerfull, suroof, and rear spoiler. Honda Civics or Corollas with similar features cost more than $4000 or maybe $5000 over this little friend. The handling is very precise and stable even on wet road thanks to the traction control. The only thing that I don’t like too much is the look of the material used on the seats though it doesn’t seem to be very durable. Overall I think it is a very good option (More so during this hard time) if you like to see a few thousands in your bank account and still be able to have a little reliable car in your garage ready to take you anywhere. My suggestion give it a try and don’t underestimate it.
