Buying Tips
If you need to haul a major load of people or cargo, the larger, smoother R-Class crossover or the big, rugged GL-Class SUV might be more to your liking.

I owned a first generation ML320 that I really liked. I did not know how bad is was until I drove the new 2009 model. The ride is so much better, acceleration much better, gas mileage much better, trim and interior much better. On the other side the old ML seemed to have more storage space in the hatch, but the new ML back seats finally fold flat affording more useable space. The back seat is roomy and leg room seems better on the new vehicle. The old ML320 engine was noisy while the new ML350 engine is smooth, almost V8 like. If you owned an older model ML, some things you will have to get used to is the placement of all interior controls have been repositioned from the old ML’s locations. This can be tricky until you learn the placement. One particlular problem is the location of the cruise control. It is very close to the turn signal and you have no way to disable it on the dash or stalk. I almost hurled myself into oncoming traffic when I accidently activated the cruise control instead of hitting the turn signal. Also the steering is more sensitive, almost twitchy at high speed. At slow speeds, it steers much better than the older one. The seats on the new ML are a little firmer than the older one. May be the difference between the cheaper MBTEX vs the old real leather seats I had before. As for the design, I like the new grill, lights, and the standard wheel package looks great. This is an entirely new vehicle if you owned an older ML. Let’s hope it holds up better than the first generation ML. My recommendation, buy this vehicle.

i got the ML350 4MATIC last week after being in a clk320 for 9 years, and i have to say i am very happy so far. it drives great, and the people who dont like the nav/audio locations need to give it more time.
the sirius real time traffic is an amazing feature.

This is my 2nd AMG ML63. The changes from 2008 to 2009 are great. New LED taillights, new headlights, updated COMAND electronics, hot new 20″ AMG wheels and more standard features (like Keyless Go and Parktronic).

While the ML63 is very, very expensive, one is rewarded daily with the finest Mercedes-Benz has to offer. The leather, wood and materials are S-Class worthy and the whole cars just oozes quality and prestige.

Eventhough this supercar, er superSUV, has over 500hp & a race tuned suspenison…it is very comfortable and a great daily driver for me and my toddler. Thanks to the new, advanced Airmatic suspension and Active Body Control, the ride is extremely comfortable and enjoyable. If I want it to be softer and more “sedan” like, I just put the suspension in “C” (comfort) mode, and I feel like I am in an S or E class.

Electronics and standard Bluetooth work flawlessly and effortlessly. A/C is top notch, easy to operate and cooling is even, strong and efficient. Heated & cooled seats are standard, and here in HOT California, the cooled seats are great in our 100+ weather. No more sticky back!

Reliability on my 2008 ML63 was flawless, and so far every indicator for my 2009 is showing perfection as well. If you want the best of the best…then the 2009 ML AMG is for sure the right choice. Mercedes-Benz has invested a lot of time, money, energy in developing and building the 2009 ML. The minute you sit down and then step on the gas, it is obvious that this car is a Mercedes-Benz in every aspect. Danke Schön. Das Beste oder Nichts!!

Since I do a lot of highway driving with Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML320 BlueTEC 4dr SUV AWD, at times in bad weather conditions, I feel I need a SUV. This MB beat my previous luxury Japanese SUV hands down, in terms of ride, braking, offroad (something the previous SUV just couldn’t handle)and mileage. It sure cost more but the extra cost is worth it. Mileage is very good and one can’t tell that it’s a diesel engine. Using the cruise control significantly enhances mileage on highways. The transmission and engine deliver power smoothly. Diesel engines beat out hybrids when hauling heavy stuff and the ML320 has class-leading towing capacity. So far, no problems with reliability. Looks like MB has fixed the problems of the previous generation.

If you never thought an SUV was for you, add the 2009 MB 320 BlueTech diesel to your list because it handles very well, has lots of room inside, is safe, lots of TORQUE and is economical mileage-wise. I have observed 22 MPG city stop/go driving. With the most conservative driving style I’ve observed 30 MPG highway driving in an SUV not in an economy car! Be gentle on the throttle when pulling away from stop lights and use cruise control on the highway. The turning circle radius is good and the steering for tight parking is very easy to maneuver. The front and rear parktronic option is a must. The styling of the redesigned model is a huge improvement. Very masculine. Highly recommended
