2009 Pontiac Vibe Professional Reviews:
TheCarConnection has reviewed the 2009 Pontiac Vibe and given out”The all-wheel-drive system, by the way, is a new, electronically-controlled viscous coupling, quicker and smarter at shifting torque where it’s needed. You’ll get a maximum of 60 percent driving the rear wheels, though the package is normally biased to the front tires for better fuel economy.”
NewCarTestDrive has reviewed the 2009 Pontiac Vibe and given out” Base and GT models come standard with a five-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed automatic. The five-speed automatic has Pontiac’s Driver Shift Control, which allows the driver to choose gears via a manual shift gate. A four-speed automatic is the only transmission offered with the All-Wheel Drive model.”
CarSeek has reviewed the 2009 Pontiac Vibe and given out”The ride and handling characteristics of each Vibe vary depending on the trim. For the base model, the Vibe employs a full length rear axle, rendering the expected solid cornering and minimal lean.”
edmunds has reviewed the 2009 Pontiac Vibe and given out”Pros: Roomy backseat, comfortable ride, versatile cargo area, peppy performance, generous standard safety features, reliable Toyota powertrain. Cons: Lackluster acceleration in base model with automatic, Toyota’s version is likely to have better resale value.”

Should I buy the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer or 2009 Pontiac Vibe?

I have a 2003 Vibe GT and love it! Most of my family and friends also really like it and 2-3 are interested in getting one. I was told by a dealer that last year was the last year for GT or AWD models tho, since there was not enough profit margin for the company to keep producing the various models. The dealer that told me this was also the one to order the cars for the dealership, so I have not questioned it or checked on it, but if I am wrong I definitely want a new one!!! Mine is getting close to 100K miles, so may need a backup for my girlfriend!
