2010 Dodge Dakota Buying Tips and Reviews
The 2010 Dodge Dakota could be a fine full-size pickup alternative, but its lack of standard safety gear, sloppy handling, and low-grade fit and finish knock it out of contention.
Overview of 2010 Dodge Dakota
The Dodge Dakota is a mid-size pickup that provides nearly full-size truck power and capability.
The Dakota is available with the choice of 3.7-liter V6 or 4.7-liter V8 engines, four- or five-speed automatic transmissions, two body styles (extended cab or crew cab), two- or four-wheel drive, and four trim levels. The 3.7-liter V6 produces 210 horsepower, while the E85-compatible 4.7-liter V8 makes 302 horsepower. Front airbags and rear-wheel anti-lock brakes are standard, while side-curtain airbags and four-wheel anti-lock brakes are optional. Available sound system features include satellite radio, Alpine speaker system and an infotainment system with navigation and 30-gigabyte hard drive. A remote start system and Uconnect wireless connectivity are also available.
The 2010 Dakota is carried over from 2009.

- Edmunds.com—”When it comes to towing, the 2010 Dodge Dakota is still top dog among midsize pickups. Unfortunately, the competition trounces the Dakota when it comes to affordability and refinement. Pros:Abundant and innovative interior storage, available V8 power, best-in-class towing capacity, comfy seats.Cons:Industrial interior, limited body styles, expensive when loaded with options.”
Buying Tips:
The post-bankruptcy prices may make the 2010 Dodge Dakota seem attractive, but short of a half-off sale or more, TheCarConnection.com recommends the Nissan Frontier in this class, by a wide margin.
