- Thecarconnection—STYLING:The 2010 Honda Insight is defined by its slippery silhouette and efficient interior;PERFORMANCE:Though it’s not overtly sporty, the 2010 Honda Insight is far more engaging than anything else with a true two-mode hybrid powerplant;QUALITY:For a $20,000 car, the 2010 Honda Insight delivers what we’d expect, though the backseats are tight;SAFETY:Crash-test data should only confirm that the 2010 Honda Insight is family-safe;FEATURES:The 2010 Honda Insight is the obvious choice for a fun and cheap hybrid, but for cutting-edge technology features, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
- NewCarTestDrive—Honda has done almost everything right with the new, 2010 Insight, with that almost relating exclusively to the hybrid’s fuel economy. Believing its faithful prefer a more responsive gas pedal over fewer visits to the local gas station, Honda geared the Insight accordingly. And while the jury’s out on whether Honda guessed right, the result is a clear choice in the hybrid segment. Finally.

Buying Tips
Is cruise control or electronic stability control on your must-have list? They’re among the many features not offered on the base Insight yet standard on the base Civic Hybrid. If you’re OK with the sedan body style and more conservative design, it’s a good reason to consider the Civic Hybrid instead.

Even though you need two counties, and a down hill stretch to Pass,
the cars mileage is impressive, and the use of its many features similarly impressive.
Having traded a POCKET ROCKET, for this 2010 Honda Insight EX, its performance is not Top Drawer, but 40-50MPG, makes me feel a lot better, every time I put in 10 Gallons to go 400+ miles, vs. the 13 I used to buy to go 365 miles. In my mind, I’ve won, but my high speed getaways have lost.

I had the 2010 Honda Insight LX for over five weeks.
The MPG is impressive. I average 47 per gallon. At a time when gas prices are going back up, it?s good to know that the Insight sips very little fuel. I used nothing but the Econ mode since purchase.
I read on a message board that the jerking motion goes away after a while, but it hasn?t happened yet. I have less than 1100 miles on it so far, and notice that the car jerks at low speeds when accelerating and braking. It?s not comforting to know that you don?t have complete control of the vehicle?s motion, but the jerks are light. I am still waiting for it to go away.
The main beef I have is with the sun visor. It is not near the ceiling corner, so it does a very ineffective job of blocking out sunlight from the side. I might add something to the visor at the expense of tackiness.

I just get the EX w/ Navigation,Getting 44 mpg overall so far with 300 miles driven so far. Totally happy with that. The navigation and bluetooth are awesome. I mean I can turn on the AC with a voice command! For 23k you cannot beat the EX-Navi model. I have found that even though the acceleration is slow you can shift into “S” mode on the gear and it helps alot. Of course you use more gas but you wont have some jerk on your tail while accelerating.
