Index of 2010 Scion xD Expert Reviews

  • thecarconnection—STYLING:The 2010 Scion xD stands out in the crowded compact box crowd, but is less polarizing than the bigger xB;PERFORMANCE :The 2010 Scion xD’s performance is less exciting than you might hope, but it will get you to your destination competently;QUALITY :The 2010 Scion xD might be more appealing if its front seats were as good as the rears. Cargo space is good, but its primary competitor, the Honda Fit, does better;SAFETY:The 2010 Scion xD may be small, but it protects its occupants well and offers some surprising safety options;FEATURES:The 2010 Scion xD costs more than some competitors, but it comes with better standard equipment and a huge list of custom options.
  • Edmunds—”A stylized exterior and an impressive features list should attract buyers to the 2010 Scion xD, but some competing models offer more utility and fun. Pros: Extensive customization options, nifty sliding/reclining backseat, high-tech stereo systems. Cons: Unimpressive cargo space, unfriendly to tall drivers.”
  • CarSeek—”Competing with the Mini Cooper, the Chevrolet Aveo, the Kia Soul and the Pontiac G3, the 2010 Scion xD presents a worthy challenge. This four-door hatchback provides excellent fuel economy, very appreciable safety features, sporty looks and agile handling. It’s definitely worth your further consideration.”

Buying Tips:
If you don’t absolutely need four doors, you may want to consider the two-door Toyota Yaris hatchback. It’s less expensive and even more frugal on gasoline than the Scion xD. The Yaris is also available as a five-door hatchback, so if fuel economy is your first priority and you’re willing to take a step down in features and performance, it’s worth wandering across the lot to Toyota.

    Hate it!
    Cons
    Uncomfortable for larger drivers

There are issues, no power when a.c. is on, small gas tank; I’m always at the pump. my other choice was the VW Golf, I realize now that the VW Golf would have been better buy!
Mileage estimate off.I did a 24 hour test drive and found the mileage around town to be far less than the EPA estimate. Most reviewers indicate getting mileage as good or better than EPA estimates… Don’t believe it. Plan on around 20 around town and maybe 25 on the road. I wasn’t impressed with the styling, It feels responsive to someone with little experience in real rally race handling, but it actually drives like a dog.

    Pros
reliable, built in japan, very cool look and good on gas
    Cons
ride can be a little rough and can hear cabin noise; Blue paint scratches real easy

Overall I like the car. It has toyota quality and the set pricing makes it fast and easy to buy. The ground clearence is about an inch higher than a car so it has that suv feel which i like. Thefirst reviewer that gave this car a poor rating did you test drive this car for more than 2 min? Did you get it up to highway speeds? Did you research the features and realized it only has like a 11 gal gas tank so you be at the gas station more due to the smaller gas tank? Also how are you driving this car, did you know that fuel economy is partly on the driver style of driving? I think the car is great overall. My only gripe is the paint, it tends to scratch real easy, its the Blue color.
