It’s dull, but it works for those with expectations of anonymity;PERFORMANCE :There’s no mistaking the 2010 Toyota Corolla for a performance sedan; however, the XRS offers some excitement—at the cost of fuel economy;QUALITY:When it comes to reliability and build quality, the 2010 Toyota Corolla is hard to beat—especially when you consider the price and generous standard equipment;SAFETY :The Toyota Corolla is made even safer for 2010 thanks to the addition of electronic stability and traction control as standard;FEATURES:The 2010 Toyota Corolla’s feature list is substantial, with items like an optional moonroof and navigation system available, though at a significant premium.
  • newcartestdrive—The all-new 2009 Toyota Corolla is an practical sedan that by way of its myriad configurations can be used for virtually any application. It keeps up with urban traffic, offers good maneuverability, delivers decent fuel economy, and makes a strong argument in any non-emotional automotive purchase.

Buying Tips:
The Toyota Corolla remains one of the most popular models in the mid-size sedan, but with tough competition from the likes of Honda, Chevrolet, and Mazda, there are some bargains to be had. Look for deals on the base models, but manual-equipped XRS models are also a favorite for value-minded buyers. Here strongly recommend the XRS model if you are after a Corolla, but be prepared to pay the price premium.

I finally bought this car LE 4-Spd AT 2 weeks ago, after weeks of comparing this and a few other cars. I had read all about the steering complaints but went with the reliability of Toyota. I cannot be happier! The steering is sensitive and you feel the difference at higher speeds, however I do not see it as a problem for me. Steering in the city and parking is a breeze! I have already put 1400 miles on it and I feel safe and it has enough power for what I need. I do alot of driving, both highway and city and average about 36mpg.. You can’t beat it! Stability and Traction Control are standard now also. I would recommend to anyone looking for something nice, reliable and great on gas.

Overall the car is a great vehicle.

I do not know what people mean by the EPS causing problems. We have had the car on the highway at 60,70 and 80 mph and it drives perfectly fine. Maybe Toyota did fix this issue on the 2010 models. We just have not experienced it.

I do admit the wheel does feel a little heavy, but nothing that is tiring to a driver or a safety hazard.

Car is more than roomy for my son and his friends, but we are not upwards of 6 feet, so that might be a reason why.

Love the front/rear spoilers as they give the car a sharp look. The radio (with XM) works well, the JBL sound quality is sharp. The bluetooth is a nice feature as you don’t need to take your hands off the wheel to make phone calls. Steering wheel controls are nice and seem to work well.

We only have 1300 miles on the car, so I can not speak of reliability. I can say that we have no squeaks or rattles. But those may come in time. Hey, it’s a car, it’s mechanical. Also, we have no dings, so as far as that or paint chipping, I can’t say it can’t happen, but it hasn’t yet.

Overall, if you are a looking for an economy car, then this is a great choice. I would also look at the Mazda 3, the Volkswagen Jetta or even the Ford Focus, as those cars also appear to be of decent quality. I just prefer Toyota at this time, as I have had super luck with my 2008 Camry. Plus the wife works at a Toyota dealership, so my options were somewhat limited.

Had this vehicle XLE 4-Spd AT for a month now and it has been in the shop over a week. Took it in for rattle, creeky noise from the undercarriage…turns out it was the suspension. Was looking for a lower cost subcompact with decent mileage and gave the new 09 Corolla a try. I had to look hard to tell that I was driving a redesigned “all new” model because other than the Camry copied grille and deconteneted bodyside moldings, it looks almost the same as the 2002-2008 generation. The interior is a bit better but still bland. The best feature of this car was it’s smooth quiet ride. But handling is soft and unsporting and larger bumps make the car bop up and down suggesting that a firmer suspension is in order. The 1.8 liter engine feels much as before with a little more refinement but is still rather slow and buzzy. Also the sticker was nearly $17000 and cruise control was not included and is a separate option for another $250.00! Also how did Toyota think slapping a Camry grille and removing the bodyside protection moldings was going to create an all new look? I wasn’t fooled.
Not also sure if it is made in China, as most lower cost Toyota comes from nowdays! If made in Japan, it will cost more that for sure.

There is very little difference except for a few interior tweaks and ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, TRAC and VSC are standard instead of optional.
