1234 PIN worked for me during bluetooth device searching by Android phone. 0000, 6789 did not work. In Torque Pro software chose CBT as device type, bluetooth as connect type (instead of WiFi). Tested fine on 2004 Hyundai XG350L & 2007 Saturn Vue V6 Base using Droid X w/ Gingerbread Android version (LG Thrive w/ Froyo also worked). This LG failed to work with Torque Free version. CBT paired but no connection in Torque Free (Droid X had no such problem). My advice to users with problems: Try a different Android phone, software or a different car. May be the scanner itsefl is not defective. Just some compatibility issues.
The device saved me one day when Vue’s instrument cluster fried on a trip (all gauge needles frozen with burning plastic smell from cluster). Put in the scanner and found no fault codes. Drove home. Bought a used one. Used my old cover lense (no scratch). Some clusters store odometer readings on board, but some read from car’s computer. Called two dealers. They wanted good money to reprogram the miles. Did fall for it. The cluster was very to pull out and put back in within minutes (some online videos will show you how). Much simpler than I thought. For my 07 Vue, It displayed my prior odometer reading automatically. The old odometer reading was actually saved on the car’s computer unlike dealers wanted me to believe otherwise. Didn’t get ripped off this time.
For me, I will keep the $20 scanner in the car all the time. You never know what can happen to your car at an odd time. My Vue actually emitted some burning plastic smell about 15k miles back once. Never found out the source before because the smell disappeared. This time the myth was finally solved. The cluster’s power supply (clusters do have their own power supply on board according to my web search) was most likely the problem. I guess its coil shorted a little 15k miles back. And this time, it failed completely.

I’ve used this on a 1996 Lexus and 2012 Hyundai. It worked on both. Easy. I bought one for my daughter for her car. Don’t let the price fool you. The hardware is pretty simple and low cost now. The key is the smartphone UI. Highly recommended.

Only cost 20 bucks and I got it the next day by prime. Does exactly what it’s supposed to, I paired it to an old G1 Android phone that I don’t use for anything really so now I have a handy little scanner for practically nothing. It also comes with a mini CD containing what I assume is PC software, but my computer has a slot load drive which won’t take it so I just use the phone with it.
Only been using it for a couple days now but its exactly what it says and works perfectly. If you need a cheap scanner, get this.

This is my first ever ODBII and so far I love it!! It works as advertised and I had no problems installing it.
I use this ODBII scanner together with the Torque App on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 connected to Land Rover LR3. All works fine.
The product is well made.
I do have a suggestion to the manufacturer. It would be great is there was another version of the adapter where the connector and hardware is separated by a cable so that you can change the adapters angle when mounting permanently in a car. This way it does not get in the way when connected to the car. Since I my car has lots of leg room I do not mind when the adapter sticks out, but in compact cars I see this being a problem especially if the car connection is in a weird place. (see The Gramin Eco adapter if you want to see what I mean)

I bought this thing to complete my yaris using torque app. It works as expected, I can see my mpg’s and rpm’s in real time. Really didn’t have any problems connecting or with connection speed. Happy with the product.
