as much fun as my 2006 civic but more practical. I have a 2.4 with 5 spd auto which wasn’t a choice on the drop down menu on this website. Just got back from a 5000 km road trip and got about 39 mpg (Canadian) I rated the reliability high but really don’t have the mileage to prove that, although the warranty is by Canadian standards very generous. 2008 Pontiac Vibe Review

Although the 2008 Pontiac Vibe’s handling isn’t as entertaining as that of the decidedly sporty Mazda 3, it is responsive and composed. Body roll is minimal and turn-in is fairly crisp. A supple ride makes the Vibe a good companion whether handling commuting duty or road tripping, and freeway cruising is unstrained at higher speeds.

Pros: Excellent Fule Economy, Great Utility
Cons: Loud Ride, Underpowered, Thin window glass

We had a Vibe for 3 and a half years. Not much has changed since the 2003 we owned. It was a great car. If you fold down the seats, you won’t believe the cargo room. If you need a small, gas friendly, convenient auto for a little under $20,000 then this is a great choice. Gas mileage was better in this than my 2007 Honda Civic. The ride in the vibe, however, is very rough and the road noise is LOUD. After 60,000 miles we only had to replace a battery-happens to all cars at some point-and a belt tensioner. The engine is very well built. This is a great car for a high school/college student. It is a bit small for a family. Pontiac did very well with this auto. That being said, we have moved on to a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the only thing we miss is the fuel economy. Continue reading »
