Ford Mustang or Chevy Camaro?—Silverdub6
I’m thinking of newer models 98-02…and not the 2010 camaro.
Which do you think looks better?
Which do you think has more horsepower?
Which do you think has more street/strip potential?

I was at a Ford Dealer with one of my friends who was looking for a new (at the time) 2005 mustang. They didn’t have one so we looked at a 2000 GT. What a piece of ****. Sure the car looks good but the interior is just ******* ugly. Plastic that’s lose and rattles. The guys at GM definitely spent more time and money building the interior of the 1993-02 Camaros. I used a 96 V6 camaro and wow it sure was a nice ride. Handles great and good throttle response. (Mustang is famous for shitty handling).
The LS series engines are 6 bolt main well the 4.6 L (281 CID) 4v DOHC is a 4 bolt main. You can push some serious power out of the LS engine then what you can out of the Mustang GT because of its tinny *** engine. The Z28 Camaro came stock with 305hp well the SS came stock with 320hp. The Mustang GT came stock with 305hp well the Cobra was 320hp and 390hp supercharged.
I searched aftermarket parts on summit racing for a 2000 Camaro and a 2000 Mustang to find out who has more aftermarket parts and the Camaro had 1560 pages of aftermarket parts and over 600 pages for the LS engine. When I searched for the 2000 Mustang it came up with 2057 pages of aftermaket parts, but this is because they are also showing aftermarket parts for mustangs with Chevy engines in them like headers for a chevy but fit in a mustang. but when i search of aftermarket parts for the 281 4.6L engine it only comes up with 312 pages. Its ovious the Camaro is way better than the Mustang.

i give it to the mustang on the looks if its a gt but if its a v6 then chevy. it would be hard to say which has more horsepower because it would be hard to find a completely stock one for sale. the chevy camaro has the best street/strip potential simply because they’re unlimited parts available for it to do anything you want to

This is a non biased opinion. The Mustang has more legacy behind it. It was out before the Maro, its basically Americas car in my opinion. Popular the day it came out and still extremely popular today. Ford has changed some things throughout the years; some hits some misses but over all has carried the name Mustang excellently. The horse power might not be that of a Camaro but the aftermarket parts for mustangs are cheap and very much available. Not sure where I read this but for every ten mustangs sold Chevy sold three Camaros. Camaros are great cars, but they seemed to of dropped the ball on the late models even to a point where they stopped making them. The horse power on them is respectable, the design is awesome but not the same popularity as the Mustang. The 2010 Retro style Camaro is a bit late. The retro Mustang came out in 05, and the Challenger in 08. Camaros are just now available but probably more so at the end of the year. Great looking car, but late on its arrival. Most people are either buying the Mustang or Challenger. Both great cars, I think ill stick to my Mustang
