DMV open on Saturdays in California
Is the DMV open on Saturdays in California?—By It’s Kyle!
Or even Fridays for that matter?
I know that they were supposed to be closed for Fridays for budget cuts, but I’m not sure if that’s still in effect.

1. Traditionally, some DMV’s were open one Saturday per month, before the budget cuts. I am not sure if they still are.
2. They are closed three Fridays per month due to budget cuts. This is in addition to any days that they are closed for holidays. They are open on the fourth Friday, not including holidays, and the fifth, if there is one.
“The Department of Motor Vehicles reminds customers that all statewide offices will be closed on the first three Fridays of each month through June 2010 – in keeping with Executive Order S-13-09.
“During the month of January, (including the New Years Day Holiday) DMV offices will be closed on Fridays January 1 [a holiday], 8 [the first non-holiday Friday], 15, and 22.
“All DMV offices will be open Friday January 29, 2009 [the fourth non-holiday Friay]. Normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays) remain in effect.”
