Engine Oil Pressure on 99 VW Beetle

Engine Oil Pressure on 99 VW Beetle?—By Evan V
On my way home my engine oil light came on and buzzed twice. The light didn’t stay on I guess its a warning or something? If I took it into Volkswagen would they charge more or would it be better if I did the work myself. I read the manual and it said to take it in but after reading several websites, i’m suppose to not drive it after the light comes on. They light only flashed twice for like 2 seconds.
Am I able to drive it to some shop?
Please help me, I don’t have a clue about cars. I’m afraid it might cost a lot to fix.

the oil sending unit will cause this to happen momentarily on those cars sometimes, try doing this, check the oil level and see if its full, if it is you might want to have a small shop check the actual pressure the engine is running at to see if it is the sending unit going bad on it,just a simple glitch like this happening one time doesn’t indicate a sever problem with it,good luck.
