How to import Autos from Japan
How can I import a car from Japan? By diablo_goku86
I want import a nissan skyline, not to drive, but as a show and strip car. I know it wont pass DOT, Inspection or emissions, thats why I dont want to drive it on the street. I need to see if i can find information on importing it, and if at all possible, find a company that will transport it from japan to the US.

Generally any car imported to the US needs to comply with American safety and emission standards. Many times that is very difficult to accomplish because there are many standards such as the thickness of the window glass that prohibit the car from passing. If you are really serious about this you need to go and speak to someone that really knows at a US customs office and explain your situation. Personally I think that you are out of luck but you have nothing to lose by trying.
Shipping the car is no problem. Just contact any freight forwarder.

There are importers of the Skyline…but its extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) expensive…in fact for the sort of money you’d be paying for it you’d be better off just buying a brand new R35 GT-R. It’ll beat a Ford V8 in a straight line as well as a circuit

Why get a jap S**tbox? Grab a good ford, and you have something that is overall, more reliable and performs better (looks better too…) than any ricer that ever existed. Japanese cars are horrible, grab a Ford, and don’t look back.

No offense, but as a strip car, you can’t beat a Ford V-8 with anything other than another Ford!
