kind of insurance should get on a rental car
What kind of insurance should I get on a rental car?—By qnbee1
My personal auto policy only covers liability. So what should I get with the rental company? The guy I spoke with from my insurance company tried to help but it gets so confusing. He said I need to get something to cover my deductible but is that all I need to do?

Actually, more and more rental companies are offering multiple kinds of insurance now. Your liability insurance will cover you in the rental car, but you will need to purchase “Damage Waiver” which will pay for damages to the rental car itself. You may also have to purchase Roadside Assistance separately. This used to be an automatic service with rental companies but recently it has started becoming a paid option.

The car rental company has only one type of insurance, so you will need to purchase it to rent the car – does not cost that much and is better than paying lots of $$$ in case of an acciden
