I don’t think it’s possible. The automatic Suabru’s have different programming in the ECU. Not only for the shifting but also with different gearing, the mapping will be different because load will be different for each gear. I don’t know if the AVCS on the newer Impreza’s and Legacy’s are the same but I have a feeling they are not. I just think you are better off asking them to trade it in for an automatic WRX if you really want an auto. They will probably save some money and insurance will be cheaper too. If you do find out the ECU’s are compatible, then you need that and the transmission, pedal assembly, shifter assembly, and a torque converter. Subaru’s 4EAT or 5EAT autos are plenty strong to handle the power. Just a matter of finding a shop to so the swap and tuning. After selling everything you take out of your car, it shouldn’t cost a lot at all though.

st, your spoiled as **** if your parents just give you a wrx sti
nd, you will get laughed at driving an automatic wrx sti
rd, why the **** would you ruin such an amazing car with a automatic gear box.
th, why the **** are your parents giving you, basically a rally car, if you can even drive and crashed your old car.
