Ours has been a great vehicle, one bad thing is we have to do the breaks pretty often. I’ve heard though that this is a common thing among dodge vehicles. One plus is that there are so many on the road that if you ever need used parts all wreckers and used auto parts places will haves tonnes to offer. As we speak my husband is at the wreckers getting a used fuel pump. We’ve had our caravan for 9 years now and it’s been good to us. Good family car, good for travel, good for moving things. Good luck in your search!

First of all check the mileage. If it has over 70,000 miles on it don’t buy it. After 70,000 milse you will start having problems with the front end. They are front wheel drive and the CV joints will start to go bad.
Check the condition. If it has a 4 clyinder motor don’t buy it. They are under powered and the engine has a strain move the caravan down the road. We had a 2003 Dodge Caravan and it was a good vechile. We had no problems with it, other than it wouldn’t get out of it’s own way. My wife loved it and I had a battle talking her into trading it in on a truck. But she drives a 2005 Chevy Equinox with a V6 and love it more than the Caravan.
The transmissions have problems after a few thousand miles. Make sure you get a warranty also. If you can get an extended warranty. Basically they are good vechiles. Get a Grand Caravan. They come with 3.8 V6.

Overall they are awesome vans. I would look to see how much oil they are leaking, they are very bad for that, any engine from Mitsubushi are bad for leaking. I would recomend buying one of these vans, but just stay on top of the oil leaks.

If you buy a used anything you always want to know the mileage. Dodge brand transmissions have a knack to poop out so you would want to ask if the transmission has been flushed recently and if not if they would be willing to have it done b4 you buy it. Drive it to see how it sounds and ask if you can take it for a day. So you can see how it runs doing 70 on the interstate and also how good it sounds on back country roads I live in the country and use the interstate to go to the city so that would be important to me. Hope this help you
