I have been driving a 04′ suv, I had a previous license suspension (over 3 years ago) and 1 ticket, but I haven’t had a ticket for almost 4 years and Im 20yrs old. (male). right now I have united auto insurance. they require a down payment and I pay about 1000 bucks for every 6 months which is kind of ridiculous. I have full coverage and already raised my deductible to 1000 (which quite frankly I wouldn’t be able to afford if I had to pay it), but it saved me about 300 dollars. im a student, but they haven’t asked me for any ‘good student’ proof. but im assuming all insurance companies have the good student discount right? I tried to find another company that was cheaper, but they all ask for past 5 years tickets, violations. some cheapo companies require 3 years history like the goof balls Im with now. I only found 1 company thats like 100 bucks cheaper, but its not worth the hassle, its a cheapo company any how, kind of sceptical. what do you guys think I should do?

When you get tickets and violations, it takes about 10 years to clear off your record. So around 26 you would probably see a change in prices of your insurance. It also depends on the state you are in. Some states charge more and some states charge less. I am talking about those big company like All state. and yes you should ask for the good student discount.
